Carry Respect, Not A Blade

Feedback

The Joe Dix Foundation prides itself in delivering bespoke presentations suitable to the target audience. Our youngest participant was 7 and she was really engaged and interactive during the presentation.

Please see below some of the feedback that we have received:

Created a platform for conversation

The training has provided a platform to have conversations with others about child criminal exploitation, providing a good talking point with young people, staff and peers alike.

Returning to school

Local parent contacted helpline, was worried about her son, wondered if we would talk to him. Phil met with parent, spoke to her and her son separately. Son handed over a knife for disposal. Both mum and son messaged later to say thank you our time. The son said he was going to go back to school on Monday.

Worried mother

Sad

The presentation was sad, but we need to know about it, thanks

Informative

The information was hard to hear, but it was so informative. Thoroughly helpful.

Learning in a way not previously experienced.

The content was delivered in such a human way, it was hard hitting, because of the personal element to the story. The relation of statistics to the real life experience embedded the learning in a way not previously experienced.

Passionate

‘I am super passionate and supportive of The Joe Dix Foundation and will support you by offering youngsters first aid training.’

Amazing detailed website

Thank you for spreading awareness, it is so important. I have learnt a lot from reading your website and I have recommend it to anyone I speak to about gangs, drugs and violence. Keep up the excellent work, you are absolutely making a difference. Thank you

Personal and relatable

The delivery was professional, even though this was a very personal story for Joe’s Mum, she delivered this in a way that was professional, yet personal. Being able to see this experience through her eyes was a new way to think about exploitation and the harrowing impact it can have on lives. This made the content much more relatable, and helped to embed the lessons learned.

Insightful

We have never had first aid training that included how to deal with catastrophic bleeding. It has been insightful.

Ask the right questions

I can now see that exploited child or their parent may present to the GP and we have an opportunity to ask questions that may indicate exploitation.’

Little more detail

I think whilst you were explaining the story you were great, but maybe a little more detail.

Unaware

I wasn’t aware that all this was going on in Norwich

More than the usual training

This felt like more than the usual stock indicators found on line or in other teaching, it was real life.

:Lets talk about this.

Finally people of Norwich are talking about this. I was a victim of knife crime and seeing the work that you are doing is beautiful. I’ve tried to start a campaign when I was young, but no one took notice but seeing this has kept my mind positive. So keep doing what you guys are doing. Joe would be proud.’
